Product information

3-piece PVC connector, 50, 1 1/2

The 3-piece PVC connector allows a Ø50 mm PVC pipe to be connected to a valve, piece of equipment or fitting fitted with a compatible 1½″ female thread.

One end features a female socket for bonding the pipe. The opposite end has a 1½″ BSP male thread. The central nut allows the two parts of the coupling to be separated when the equipment needs to be dismantled, thereby avoiding the need to cut the pipe.

Key features – 3-piece PVC coupling, 50, 1 1/2

  • A detachable link consisting of three parts.
  • Female connector for bonding Ø50 mm pipes.
  • 1½″ BSP male threaded connection.
  • Nominal diameter DN40.
  • Made from PVC.
  • It allows components to be removed without cutting the pipe.
  • Reference 15706.
  • For professional use in hydraulic circuits.
  • Number of units per box to be confirmed.

What is it for?

This fitting is designed to create a detachable joint between a bonded pipe and a threaded component.

It can be used to make it easier to connect and disconnect:

  • Valves.
  • Solenoid valves.
  • Pumps with a compatible female thread.
  • Filters.
  • Water treatment equipment.
  • Dosing systems.
  • Other hydraulic components with a 1½″ female thread.

Compatibility must be checked by referring to the size, thread type and specifications of the connected equipment.

Advantages over a landline telephone

A fixed glue-and-screw fitting connects the pipework to the equipment, but this usually requires the entire component to be unscrewed or the installation to be cut if there is insufficient space.

The three-piece coupling features a central nut that allows both sides of the connection to be separated. This makes it easier to:

  • Replacing valves.
  • Maintenance of pumps and filters.
  • The temporary withdrawal of equipment.
  • Repairs to the plant room.
  • Modifications to the installation.
  • Access to items that require regular inspection.

Glue joint, Ø50 mm

The Ø50 mm side accommodates the pipework inside it and must be secured using a suitable PVC adhesive.

Before gluing, it is recommended that you:

  1. Check that the pipe is Ø50 mm.
  2. Make a perpendicular cut.
  3. Remove any burrs.
  4. Clean the surfaces.
  5. Check the insertion depth.
  6. Align the joint before applying the adhesive.
  7. Observe the curing time specified by the adhesive manufacturer.

The adhesive and cleaner should not be regarded as included unless Trypool expressly confirms otherwise.

1½″ BSP male threaded connection

The threaded end must only be connected to a compatible 1½″ female thread.

Before installation, the following must be checked:

  • Thread diameter.
  • BSP standard.
  • Available depth.
  • Recommended sealing system.
  • Material of the receiving component.
  • The team’s final position.

Do not force the connection or use the thread to correct any misalignment between the pipework and the equipment.

Installation recommendations – 3-piece PVC connector 50 1 1/2

To retain the detachable feature:

  • Glue only the section intended to house the pipe.
  • Do not apply adhesive to the thread.
  • Keep the central nut accessible.
  • Leave enough space to click on the link.
  • Secure the pipework and equipment properly.
  • Ensure that the weight of the pump, valve or filter does not rest on the fitting.
  • Check for leaks before commissioning the system.

Installation must be carried out by personnel with experience of PVC hydraulic circuits.
