Product information

Trycontra 3 CV single-phase counter-current pump – 50 m³/h

The counter-current swimming system for swimming pools is designed to generate a current of water in front of the user, allowing them to swim continuously without having to move around the pool.

This solution makes it possible to incorporate an area for training, exercise or recreational use, even in pools of limited length.

3 CV single-phase pump

The system incorporates a 3 CV single-phase pump and has a stated flow rate of 50 m³/h.

The actual flow rate available at the nozzle may depend on:

  • Distance between the pump and the tank.
  • Pipe diameter and length.
  • Number of elbows and valves.
  • Installation height.
  • Pressure drops.
  • Pump status.
  • Output control.

It must be confirmed using the pump performance curve whether the 50 m³/h corresponds to the maximum flow rate, the nominal flow rate or the flow rate at the operating point.

Directional spray head with adjustable intensity

The front panel features a directional nozzle that allows the water flow to be directed.

The intensity can be adjusted to tailor the thrust to:

  • Training.
  • Leisure swimming.
  • Gentle exercise.
  • Different levels of experience.
  • User preferences.

Aeration system

The unit features a continuous air bubble system that complements the water flow.

The current specification does not state whether the air intake can be adjusted independently, so this detail must be confirmed before adding it.

Start-up via a pneumatic push-button

The pneumatic push-button switch allows the system to be switched on or off from the pool without having to install a conventional electrical switch within the swimming area.

The push-button switch sends the command to the control panel, which controls and protects the pump.

Components included

According to the current description, the set includes:

  • Housing box.
  • Decorative cover.
  • Directional nozzle.
  • Brightness control.
  • Air bubble system.
  • Pneumatic start/stop pushbutton.
  • Bomb.
  • PVC valves.
  • Connection hoses.

Electrical panel not included

The single-phase 3 CV counter-current control panel must be purchased separately.

The switchboard must incorporate the appropriate protective devices and operating controls to:

  • Pump power.
  • Rated current.
  • Supply voltage.
  • Pneumatic push button.
  • Technical room conditions.
  • Applicable electrical regulations.

The 6.3–10 A motor protection switch must not be connected automatically without first checking the pump’s rated current.

Professional installation

The system must be planned during the construction or refurbishment of the swimming pool.

Before assembly, the following must be checked:

  1. Type of glass and coating.
  2. Position of the front panel.
  3. Installation depth.
  4. Distance to the pump.
  5. Pipe diameter.
  6. Access to the technical room.
  7. Ventilation.
  8. Safety drain.
  9. Electrical protection.
  10. Extraction system.
  11. Access for maintenance.

The installation must be carried out by a professional with experience in swimming pool hydraulics and electrical systems.

Maintenance – counter-current swimmer for swimming pools

It is recommended that you check the following regularly:

  • Cleaning the nozzle.
  • Regulatory developments.
  • How the push-button works.
  • Condition of the air hose.
  • Valve tightness.
  • Hydraulic couplings.
  • Pump pre-filter, if applicable.
  • Noise or vibrations.
  • Flow rate and thrust.
  • Protective measures for the electrical switchboard.
