3-in-1 test strip kit for measuring pH, Cl and alkalinity.

It is used to measure the chlorine, pH and alkalinity of water in swimming pools. The measurement of these three parameters is essential to keep the pool water in perfect condition because if the level of pH, chlorine or alkalinity is not at the recommended levels it can be harmful to bathers and pool machinery.

Its operation is very simple, as you only have to collect a sample of water from the deepest possible part and insert the strip. After a few seconds, the parameters will appear and you can contrast them with the colours that appear on the back of the container.

Ideal values are between 0.6 and 1.5 for chlorine, between 7.4 and 7.6 for pH and between 125 and 150 ppm alkalinity.

Excessive chlorine content in the pool can cause intoxication and irritation to the skin and eyes and chlorine below the levels will cause the pool to turn green because bacteria and algae colonies will proliferate.

A high pH is an alkaline pH and causes cloudy water in bad condition, causing the chlorine to lose more than 50% of its effectiveness and a low pH is an acidic pH which will corrode all parts of the pool whatever the material.

High alkalinity causes pH imbalance, difficulty in pH adjustment and turbidity in the water. Low alkalinity causes pH imbalance, difficulty in pH adjustment, corrosion, eye irritation and green water.
