Product information

Cordless pool cleaning robot for pools up to 15 metres in length

The BWT BATbrown is a battery-powered pool cleaner designed to automatically clean the bottom, walls and waterline of the pool without needing to be connected to the mains during the cleaning cycle.

Its navigation system uses ultrasonic sensors and adaptive path-planning algorithms to move around the glass in an organised manner. The suction power is adjusted according to the amount of debris detected, helping to optimise battery usage.

Key features

  • Battery-powered wireless operation.
  • Cleaning the hull, sides and waterline.
  • Suitable for swimming pools up to 15 metres in length.
  • Published approximate range of 15 to 160 m³.
  • 9,600 mAh lithium-ion battery.
  • Approximate battery life of between 3 and 4 hours.
  • Suction capacity of 15 m³/h.
  • Dual filtration at 180 and 80 µm.
  • Filtration capacity of 4 litres.
  • Two PVC brushes.
  • Navigation using ultrasonic sensors.
  • Control and programming via an app.
  • SmartPark recovery system.
  • Replaceable battery.
  • Weighs 7.9 kg.
  • Published 3-year warranty.

Thorough cleaning of the hull, sides and waterline

The BATbrown is designed to move across the main surfaces of the glass and carry out a thorough clean. In short cycles, it can focus solely on the bottom, whilst the full programmes include the sides and the waterline.

The two PVC brushes help to dislodge trapped dirt, whilst the pump draws the debris into the filter basket.

Dual filtration system

The robot features two levels of filtration:

  • 180 µm filter for larger particles.
  • An 80 µm fine filter for smaller particles.

The basket has a capacity of 4 litres and is removed from the top. A system of flaps helps to prevent the collected debris from falling back into the water when the robot is removed from the pool.

Navigation using ultrasonic sensors

Ultrasonic sensors enable the BATbrown to recognise its position and adapt its cleaning route. This system prevents the robot from simply moving around in a completely random manner and helps to improve the coverage of the glass.

The SmartPark function guides the robot towards a wall at the end of the cycle. The included retrieval hook allows it to be lifted using a compatible pole, which is not supplied.

Battery and cordless operation

The 9,600 mAh battery provides between 3 and 4 hours of operation, depending on the programme and the pool conditions.

As this is a cordless robot:

  • There’s no need for a cable to dangle whilst cleaning.
  • Reduces the risk of tangles.
  • Makes it easier to put on and take off.
  • It does not rely on a nearby power socket during the cycle.

The battery is replaceable, which helps to extend the device’s lifespan when its capacity starts to decline after prolonged use.

App-based control

The app allows you to select cycles, set the start time, receive notifications about the robot’s status and update the device. The current BWT product information sheet refers to this feature as Premium WiFi.

The availability of certain features may depend on the version of the app, the firmware and the wireless coverage available by the pool.
