Bag-style leaf skimmer for removing debris from the swimming pool

The Leaf scoop with wing nut fastening for swimming pools It is a hand-held accessory designed to remove leaves, insects and other debris that accumulate inside the bucket. Its bagged design allows a greater amount of dirt to be collected and stored with each pass, particularly when the debris has settled at the bottom.

Trypool identifies this version by the reference BOLP and specifically distinguishes it by its wing nut connection system. To use it, you will need a compatible telescopic pole, which is not included with the product.

Fastening with a wing nut

The leaf collector is attached to the pole by means of a wing nut. This system must be compatible with the mounting and configuration of the pole being used.

Before placing it in the water, it is advisable to check:

• Ensure that the pole fits correctly into the housing.
• The group is now complete.
• That the thread is not damaged.
• Ensure that the accessory is securely fastened.
• That there is no movement or play.
• That the bag has no cuts or tears.

It should not be confused with the clip-fastening leaf collector. The two products should be treated as separate items as they use different connection systems.

Use on the pool floor

To collect debris lying on the ground, the leaf collector should be moved slowly, with the opening facing the debris. Moving it too quickly may cause the leaves to become airborne, making it difficult for them to enter the bag.

Once the debris has been collected, the attachment should be removed gradually to prevent the debris from falling back into the water. The bag must be emptied before it becomes overloaded, as the accumulated weight can make it difficult to handle and increase the strain on the net and its fastenings.

The leaf skimmer helps to remove large debris, but it is not a substitute for the pool cleaner or the filtration system. It is particularly useful before vacuuming the pool floor, after windy spells, or when leaves have accumulated that could end up in the skimmer or the pump’s pre-filter.

Cleaning and maintenance

After each use, it is recommended that you empty the bag completely, rinse it with clean water and leave it to dry before storing the accessory.

It must not be dragged across paving, kerbs or abrasive surfaces that could damage the mesh. You should also avoid storing it with any debris or weight inside the bag.

The product must be replaced if any tears, deformities in the frame or damage to the connection appear that prevent it from being secured properly to the pole.
