Tryclor v2 Salt Chlorinator

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator automates swimming pool disinfection using salt electrolysis. It allows you to select the required output, with a maximum capacity of 20 g/h and settings for pools ranging from 5 to 80 m³.

It is available in two versions: one without Wi-Fi, controlled via the device’s panel, and one with Wi-Fi, which adds monitoring and control via a mobile app.

It features salinity control, a temperature sensor, a winter mode, a 24-hour Boost function and a cell cleaning function. It operates at a recommended salt concentration of between 3 and 4 grams per litre.

Product information

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator automates the disinfection of water in residential swimming pools using salt electrolysis. The unit uses salt dissolved in the water to generate chlorine gradually, reducing the need to manually add conventional chlorine on a continuous basis. Its output can be adjusted to suit the requirements of each installation. The user can select the desired output, up to a maximum capacity of 20 grams of chlorine per hour. This adjustment allows operation to be tailored to the pool’s volume, water temperature, sun exposure, filtration times and the number of bathers.

Selectable output up to 20 g/h

The chlorinator does not always have to operate at full capacity. It can be set to produce a lower dose when the pool requires less chlorine.

During the spring or at times when usage is low, a reduced output can be selected. In summer, when the temperature rises, there is more sunshine or there are more bathers, the output can be gradually increased.

This control capability helps to maintain a more precise output and prevents more chlorine from being produced than is necessary.

The 20 g/h figure represents the system’s maximum output. The correct setting must be verified by means of regular tests for free chlorine, pH and salinity.

Available with or without Wi-Fi

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator is available in two versions. Before adding it to your basket, you must select the type of connection.

Version without Wi-Fi

The non-Wi-Fi version allows you to control and configure the chlorinator directly from the unit’s control panel.

It is a suitable option for installations where the user regularly accesses the plant room and does not need to check or adjust the system’s operation via their mobile phone.

WiFi version

The Wi-Fi version allows you to control the system from the panel and adds the option to manage various functions via a compatible mobile app.

From within the app, you can:

  • Switching the chlorinator on and off.
  • Change the operating mode.
  • Adjust the working time.
  • Check the salt concentration.
  • Check the information about the electrode.
  • Monitor various equipment parameters.

To carry out the initial setup, the phone and the chlorinator must be connected to a compatible Wi-Fi access point.

For swimming pools of up to 80 m³

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator can be configured for swimming pools ranging from 5 to 80 m³. The default volume for the 20 g/h model is 55 m³, although this can be adjusted via the control panel.

The maximum volume is a figure provided by the manufacturer. Actual production requirements also depend on:

  • Water temperature.
  • The swimming pool’s exposure to the sun.
  • Number of bathers.
  • Hours of filtration per day.
  • Use of the cover.
  • Stabiliser level.
  • Water balance.

A swimming pool operating close to its maximum capacity may require a high flow rate and longer operating hours during the summer months.

Recommended salt concentration

The team works with an ideal concentration of between 3,000 and 4,000 ppm, equivalent to between 3 and 4 grams of salt per litre of water.

The system allows you to check the salinity and alerts you when the concentration is too low or too high.

If the salt level falls below the minimum, the unit may prompt you to add salt. If the concentration is too high, it may be necessary to add water to reduce it. When the values fall outside the permitted range, the chlorinator activates its protection system.

Operating modes

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator has several modes to adapt output to the conditions in the swimming pool.

Manual mode

It allows you to control the operation directly and select the required settings from the panel.

Automatic mode

It manages operation in accordance with the settings configured on the device.

Winter mode

It adjusts its operation when the water temperature falls below 20 °C. During the colder months, production requirements are usually lower.

Boost Mode

It maintains intensive operation for a maximum of 24 hours. It is designed for one-off situations, such as a significant increase in pool usage.

Boost mode is not intended for continuous use.

Temperature sensors and protection systems

The chlorinator is fitted with a sensor to measure the water temperature. The operating range specified in the documentation is 10 to 60 °C.

If the temperature falls outside this range, the equipment may halt production to protect the system.

It also checks that there is airflow before starting production. If it does not detect suitable conditions, it displays the warning “-FL-” and halts production.

Cell cleaning function

The unit features a cell cleaning function that helps to reduce the build-up of deposits on the electrodes.

This function does not eliminate the need to check the cell periodically. A high calcium concentration or poorly balanced water can gradually reduce its production capacity.

Before dismantling or inspecting any component, the power supply must be switched off and the filter pump stopped.

Installation and connections

The TRYCLOR salt chlorinator is installed in the return pipe, after the filtration system, ensuring that the direction of flow is as specified by the manufacturer.

The technical documentation specifies compatibility with:

  • 50 mm PVC pipe with a 1½” connection.
  • 63 mm PVC pipe with a 2” connection.
  • 32 or 38 mm flexible hose.

The maximum flow rate specified for the filter pump is 12.5 m³/h.

The installation must comply with the manufacturer’s electrical and plumbing instructions. It is recommended that it be carried out or checked by someone with adequate knowledge of swimming pool installations.

Recommended water parameters

To ensure efficient chlorine production, the documentation recommends maintaining the following values:

  • Salinity: between 3 and 4 g/L.
  • pH: between 7.2 and 7.4.
  • Free chlorine: between 0.5 and 3 ppm.
  • Cyanuric acid: between 20 and 50 ppm.
  • Total alkalinity: between 80 and 150 ppm.
  • Water hardness: between 150 and 300 ppm.

A pH that is too high reduces the disinfecting effectiveness of chlorine, even if the equipment is working correctly.

Choose the version you need

Select the version without Wi-Fi if you prefer to control the chlorinator directly from the control panel.

Choose the Wi-Fi version if you want to monitor and adjust its settings via a mobile app.

Both options offer an adjustable output of up to 20 g/h and are designed to facilitate routine pool water maintenance.
